XD

The first known major Pokémon XD glitch was discovered this week, adding hassle to players trying to save at Mt. Battle.

Pokemon XD: Gale of DarknessThe glitch occurs when a player reaches the end of an area after battling the area leader and attempts to save the game then quit while in a rest house. When the game is continued, the player will not be allowed to continue to the next area, being told that he or she can only continue if he or she has cleared all the preceding areas, regardless that the player has already cleared such areas.

Players experiencing this glitch retain any PokéCoupons they won in previous areas, and returning to the last area leader defeated will result in the leader saying what he or she said at the end of the last battle.

The only known option for players is to have the rest house's Abra teleport them back to the main Mt. Battle counter, where players will be required to complete the last area again before continuing.

The glitch did not occur in Pokémon Colosseum because players could only save at Pokémon Centers.

As a preventative measure, players in Mt. Battle are advised to teleport back to the main Mt. Battle counter before saving and quitting.

It is unknown whether this glitch affects versions of Pokémon XD released outside North America.

Nintendo of America Inc., distributor of both video and trading card games for the Pokémon franchise, magnetizes the gaming world with the announcement of the October 31 release of the Pokémon Trading Card Game: EX Delta Species, the latest expansion of the popular Pokémon TCG. The strange forces in the Holon region energize the game with unprecedented effects on the Pokémon themselves, as well as creating a new subset of Pokémon able to be used as Energy cards, and boosting abilities with the new Holon Energy.Pokemon EX: Delta Species

Within the mysterious Pokémon region of Holon, interaction with the mysterious forces there transforms existing Pokémon. Game play and strategies evolve as these magnetic forces add and change Energy Types to make the Delta Species Pokémon into new, Dual Energy Type Pokémon.

Holon’s Pokémon display astonishing new abilities. These special Pokémon can be used as regular Pokémon, or as Energy cards -- giving them a unique flexibility in game play. Holon Energy cards awaken surprising new effects in Pokémon from this and previous expansions, making the game more dynamic than ever.

Stunning new CG art adds a punch to the magnetic appeal of the EX Delta Species expansion. Over 100 new cards electrify the set, including new Trainer and Stadium cards. Along with new Special Energy cards, new Pokémon-ex and Pokémon * cards, the Delta Species of Pokémon are ready to prove each battle will be one of survival of the fittest.

The expansion will be available in two 60-card theme decks, Pokémon TCG: EX Delta Species Breakthrough and Pokémon TCG: EX Delta Species Steeplechase as well as nine-card booster packs.

“The Pokémon Trading Card Game truly evolves with this expansion,” says Gail Tilden, Nintendo’s Vice President, Brand Management. “EX Delta Species will generate a new stage of excitement among all levels of players.”

Pokémon TCG: EX Delta Species theme decks and booster packs go on sale October 31, with a MSRP of $10.99 for the theme decks and $3.29 for the booster packs. Each pack features nine randomly inserted game cards (five common, two uncommon, one rare, one holographic card). Theme decks include a 60-card deck, including one holographic card, a card list, game coin, damage counters, an updated rulebook (including deck construction tips and card list) and a oneplayer playmat.

Pokémon XD

Where Ever, CT., Oct 4, 2005 – Pokémon has not only proved itself as a leader in the video game industry, but it also has become an obsession for millions of zealous fans. Pokémon has spawned more than $15 billion in worldwide retail sales, while the franchise is on the verge of selling its 150 millionth game worldwide. Without fail, every new Pokémon game sells more than 1 million, while the legacy has grown in the United States since its introduction in 1998. But the newest game speaks for itself – Pokémon® XD: Gale of Darkness launches Oct. 3 for Nintendo GameCube™ and is the next step on the ladder of success for Pokémon. As fans have grown up, so has the game.Nintendo

The role-playing game brings with it nearly 40 hours of game play and a fantastic new storyline. The legendary Lugia™ tragically has been turned into Shadow Lugia: the ultimate Shadow Pokémon that supposedly can't be purified. The evil organization Cipher is dedicated to world domination and uses Shadow Lugia to steal a Pokémon-carrying cargo ship. Now players must snag and purify the Shadow Pokémon, saving them from a life of evil deeds.
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
The game is inundated with fascinating and original features: Players can use a new method to help purify up to nine Pokémon at once in the Purify Chamber. Taking full advantage of the Purify Chamber means building up a collection of purified Pokémon to place around the Shadow Pokémon: the more the Pokémon, the faster the purification.

Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness also runs deep with inventive game-play components. The option-rich Vs. Mode allows players to compete in extreme 3-D battles with their favorite Pokémon. A mini-game called Battle Bingo appeals to players of all ages. It's much like real bingo: Players must fill in their card squares by battling Pokémon.

In addition, the game is highlighted by great battles, astonishing graphics and mind-boggling effects. For Pokémon loyalists, Nintendo resourcefully incorporates the Game Boy® Advance by offering players the ability to import their preferred Pokémon and watch them battle in full 3-D on Nintendo GameCube – the Vs. Mode allows players to import all their Game Boy Advance Pokémon from games like Pokémon® Ruby, Pokémon® Sapphire, Pokémon® FireRed, Pokémon® LeafGreen and Pokémon® Emerald.

The craving for Pokémon continues to escalate with Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, which is Rated E for Everyone. For more information, visit www.pokemonxd.com.
